Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese repair technique in which broken ceramics are repaired with lacquer and the flawed parts decorated with gold and silver. It is not just about appearance, but is rooted in the philosophy of not viewing chips and scratches as mere defects, but accepting them as part of the broken ceramic's history and individuality, and so breathing new life into them...

The Tenmoku glaze has a deep glow like the dark night sky, gently complemented by the gold work, impressing a feeling of past times and stories. The texture is almost ephemeral, yet filled with the powerful beauty of rebirth.
